Bring your talent and skills to the following IDS group: EDD: Raytheon’s Electronic Design Directorate (EDD) provides engineering design, integration and production to core radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system competencies including process and control, integration and test, power systems, torpedo and sonar electronics, receivers and exciters, antennas and microwave subassemblies. The Power and Electronic Systems Department in the EDC has responsibility for the following areas: •Power System Design - Power System Noise, System Simulation and Modeling, Solid State Transmitters, Tube Transmitters, High Voltage Design, Power Sources, Generators •Power Conversion - AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies, PFC, ZVS, ACS and Resonant Circuits, Synchronization, Noise Controls •Power Distribution - Ground, Air, Shipboard, and Space, Line Voltage, High Current, Low Voltage, Micro-Power, DC, AC, Multi-Phase Power Control, Fault Reporting, Isolation, Protection Circuits, Redundant Systems •Power Design - Filter, Harmonic Control, EMI, Circuit Simulation, Magnetic Design, Overload, Short Circuit, Stress Analysis •Mixed Signal Design - Receiver A/D Converters, Direct Digital Converters, Receiver D/A Converters, Digital Waveform Generators, Mixed Signal CCAs, Mixed Signal Modules and Subsystems •Digital Hardware - Subsystem/Module Digital Circuits, FPGA/ASICs, Beam Steering, Mixed Process/Photonics/Sensors, COTS systems, COTS interfaces, Subsystem Development, VME/PCI •Digital Systems – System Trades, Architecture, Embedded Processing •Software Design - Real-time Signal Processing, Beam Steering, Embedded Software Job Description: An experienced Power Systems / Electronics engineer comfortable working with commercial off-the-shelf and custom hardware designs to achieve system requirements. Responsibilities will require leading a team of engineers in developing proven designs based on modeling and simulations. Additional responsibilities will include managing budgets and schedules as the leader of a development team. Candidate should expect to work closely with Systems Engineers and other development team members in translating system performance and operational specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications. Basic Skills: § Minimum of 10 years experience in the design of high power systems, power converters, as well as technical and task management. § Project management skills. § Comfortable in power hardware/ subsystems integrations laboratory environment and experienced in using technical equipment to test and verify functions of hardware. § Required Education(including Major): BS in Electrical Engineering (advanced degree preferred) Desired Skills: § Past technical, hardware development and radar systems experience in a DOD environment are highly desirable. § Desired application analytical skills include experience in verifying and modeling power systems and electronics using Pspice. § The ability to work with Raytheon vendors to ensure proper implementation of state-of-the-art product designs. § Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to function effectively as part of a design team.
