Principal Software Engineer (Configuration Management Engineer)
This position supports engineering activities in the FCS GSI program in Plano, Texas, as a Configuration Management Engineer. This individual is a member of the FCS GSI CM Team. The FCS GSI CM in this position must have the knowledge and experience to manage configurations through a multi-tiered (program, IPT, and suppliers) system of configuration control in which change control is complex. The CM in this position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a Mission System Integrator (MSI) configuration management process involving multiple subcontractors, team members, and customers. This MSI configuration management process must encompass several engineering disciplines to include the control of artifacts associated with hardware, software, firmware, systems engineering, and program management. This MSI configuration management process must also involve the coordination of a wide variety of CM tools to include ClearCase/ClearQuest, CM Synergy/ChangeSynergy, DOORS, PDMLink, and the Advanced Collaboration Environment (ACE). Tool coordination support includes tool implementation support, PDMLink workflow support for both Supplier SDRL delivery workflow and change management workflow, as well as DOORS tool CM, and ACE data federation support. The FCS GSI CM will establish levels of control for the multi-level configuration utilizing the ACE and the standard library tools to provide status of baselines and changes to all items in the baselines in a seamless manner between Raytheon, lower level suppliers, and the Lead System Integrator (LSI). The CM is responsible for supporting Work Product Management (WPM) deployment on FCS GSI. Required Skills: « Will require a broad variety of engineering and management expertise combined with excellent interpersonal skills « Must have extensive knowledge in areas such as engineering process definition, configuration management, collaborative environments, interface control working groups, as well as functional, allocated and product baseline management is useful « Must have knowledge of how multiple engineering and support disciplines are integrated across the program is critical for success « Must have experience in managing configurations through a multi-tiered, multi suppliers software on multiple platforms « Must be self-motivated to stay on top of the dynamic engineering process environment « Must be familiar with CCB process, Work Product Management (WPM) concept, and CMMI initiatives « Must know ClearCase/ClearQuest, « Must have the knowledge and experience to manage configurations through a multi-tiered (program, IPT, and suppliers) system of configuration control in which change control is complex « Must encompass several engineering disciplines to include the control of artifacts associated with hardware, software, firmware, systems engineering, and program management « Must also involve the coordination of a wide variety of CM tools to include ClearCase/ClearQuest, CM Synergy/ChangeSynergy, DOORS, PDMLink, and the Advanced Collaboration Environment (ACE) Desired Skills: « CM Synergy/ChangeSynergy, DOORS, PDMLink.
