TS/SCIDiscretion and latitude: ' Work performed without appreciable direction' Exercises some latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment' Completed work reviewed for desired resultsKnowledge Skills and Abilities: ' Applies extensive technical expertise in systems engineering with full knowledge of related disciplineso Participates in development of proposals and product offeringsProblem Solving: ' Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require regular use of ingenuity and creativity.Impact: ' Regularly functions in technical leadership roles and may function in project leadership roles. ' Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve contract objectives.Liaison: ' May be required to act as prime technical contact on contracts and projects. ' Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical coordination matters.Education and Experience: ' BS in engineering or related discipline with a minimum 12 years as systems engineer or in related discipline with or equivalent. ' MS Preferred in engineering or related discipline with a minimum 10 years as systems engineer or in related discipline with or equivalent.' Ph.D. in engineering or related discipline with a minimum 8 years as systems engineer or in related discipline with or equivalent. Required Experience:' One or more of the following:- Communications systems architecture and related system design- Information systems architecture and related system design- Telecommunications network architecture and related system design using Cisco products' Review and decomposition of customer requirements' System and subsystem architecture development using C4ISR' Requirements allocation to subsystems and development of subsystem specifications' Use of requirements management tools develop maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) and/or Requirements Traceability Verification Matrix (RTVM). Prefer experience with SLATE and DOORS.' Integration and test' System and subsystem level debugging' Test plans and procedures' Objective witness to acceptance tests ' Utilization of project management tools ' MS Project experience preferred' Preparation and conduct of design reviews and other technical presentations' Experience as primary technical contact with customers' PC Programs: MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio' Fundamental understanding of configuration management.Desired Experience:' DCID 6/3 security architectures' Satellite Tool Kit (STK)' Project management' Cisco CCIP or CCNP certification' Very large storage arrays' Red Hat Linux' Optical systems' XML messagingSpecial Requirements:' Travel for meetings, site surveys, installation and troubleshooting, US and territories, nominally 5%-25%, by air, rail, boat, bus, and car.ITT is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
