DescriptionRaytheon Solipsys is searching for a Principal Systems Engineer with extraordinary talent in technical team leadership for software intense distributed systems at their Fulton, Maryland facility. Raytheon Solipsys is an industry leader in the development of integrated C4I Network Centric Warfare solutions for both the Domestic and International DoD and this candidate will be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies. The successful candidate will apply state of the art technology, tools, and processes performing these specific duties: Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership, System requirements analysis, definition and management, System architecture design, Design synthesis, Trade studies, Technical support for software development team, and Systems integration and performance verification. Candidate will be responsible for Technical Execution of major programs for the business, providing clear and high energy leadership to the IPT, continually raising the bar for performance.Required Skills
Minimum 6 years experience in Systems or Software Engineering with DoD contract work required. BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or directly related degree; MS degree preferred. Previous proven systems engineering experience in a senior technical leadership role with Command and Control (C2), Communications, or Sensor/Weapon interface systems for DoD application. Proficiency using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) methodology to plan and manage technical tasks. Demonstrated experience interfacing with customers, representing the technical team as Technical Director. Working knowledge of a Requirements Management Tool such as DOORS (preferred), CORE, or RequisitePro. Familiarity with Link 16 J-Series message protocol, preferred. Familiarity with C++ and Java Software, preferred. Exposure to CMMI processes and standards. Understanding of Object Oriented Design techniques, desired. Ability to work with standard MS Office product suite applications. Adept at communicating with all levels within and outside the company, ability to prepare and deliver presentations/summaries (both verbal and written) which appropriately address the intended audience. Strong analytical, quantitative, technical aptitude and process oriented.Required ExperienceApplicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
