Principal Systems Engineer (ES/IM)

Principal Systems Engineer (ES/IM)

 

Will perform all the activities related to systems definition, testing, documentation and support and required to ship high quality systems to the customer in product development.

-analyze requirements coming from the aircraft manufacturer/customer

-design solutions

-design the system architecture and data flow

-develop system requirements

-write system specifications

-write system test plan

-define the system test benches

-write the test modules to cover system requirements

-run the tests on system benches

-write the test results

-run system FMEA

 

Dialogs closely with LRU designers, mechanical, installation and cerfication experts to make sure system requirements are met.  Proposes process changes to improve the efficiency and quality of work.  Monitors the LRU development activities to make sure the requirements are taken into acount by the LRU design team.  Participates in the software architecture and design decisions to ensure requirements are met and common software between systems.

 

Position requirements include:

-BS in EE, CS, CE or software related

-8+ years experience in IFE or avionics/electronic systems development and methodology (functional specifications, functional testing) desired

-knowledge of switched Ethernet communications, serial buses (RS485, 232) and avionic buses (ARINC 429)

-basics in Internet Technology (TCP/IP, HTML, browsers, servers, MPEG1/2/4, MP3)

-basics in Linux operating system

-strong documentation and communication skills
