Reporting Relationships

 

The Product Definition (Drafting) Checker reports to the Product Definition Manager.

 

Responsibilities 

 

This individual will:

 

· Ensure all product definition created by entry-level drafters meets engineering requirements specified by Design Engineers.

· Prepare and maintain complex product definition data (engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, etc).

· Perform multiple part tolerance stack-ups (including GD&T effects).

· Direct changes as a result of errors, shortfalls, turn backs, and general improvements.

· Research and provide documentation for release or revision of complex drafting tasks.

· Work in close support of Design Engineering.

· Generate cost and schedule estimates for proposals.

· Have the technical aptitude to understand complex requirements and communicate the issues to others.

· Be able to communicate with both internal and external customers both verbally and in writing (including English). 

· Review specifications, discern the deviations from the standard and provide explanations in a convincing manner.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

 

Related AA/AS degree & 5+ years experience or equivalent related work experience.

 

*US Citizenship or valid Green Card required

 

Experience

· Minimum of 5 years experience in Product Definition Checking work. 

· Fluent with 3D CAD drafting/modeling, engineering drawings, and related Bill of Materials.

· Working knowledge of Pro-E, CATIA, and other CAD tools. Working knowledge of Unigraphics is a plus.

· Strong knowledge, interpretation, and application of ASME Y14.5 and engineering drawing change processes.
