The Company
Since1999, 2d3 has supplied a range of computer vision products, all based on ‘3Dfrom the moving image’, mainly to the film and television productionindustries. The company’s primaryproduct, Boujou, the world’s leading automatic camera tracker, is now used bymost film and video post-production companies to generate visual effectsrequiring accurate registration of real and virtual images. 2d3 also sells SteadyMove, the leading videostabilization plug-in for Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
In2006, 2d3 established the Advanced Imaging Group. The group has developed a set of technologiescovering a wide range of real-time and off-line computer vision capabilitiesfor processing of aerial motion imagery. These demonstrators have generated widespread acclaim at internationalindustry venues, including Farnborough International Airshow and AUVSI. As a result, 2d3 has already won contractsfrom UK MoD, with many more in prospect from industrial and governmentcustomers in Europe and US.
2d3is part of OMG plc, a company with a 23 year history of developing,manufacturing, and selling products for 3-dimensional tracking in medical,industrial, government, and defense markets. OMG exports over 80% of its sales with customers in over 50countries. Since 2001, OMG has beenlisted on the London Stock Exchange and today employs 200 people in UK and US.
The Job
The Product Manager is responsible for both product planning and productmarketing. This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle,gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining theproduct vision, and working closely with engineering, to deliver winningproducts. It also includes working with sales, marketing and support to ensurerevenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job alsoincludes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company'soverall strategy and goals.
The Product Manager is expected to:
1. Define the product strategy and roadmap
2. Deliver requirements documents withprioritized features and corresponding justification
3. Work with external third parties to assesspartnerships and licensing opportunities
4. Be an expert with respect to the competition
5. Develop the core positioning and messagingfor the product
6. Perform product demos to customers
7. Set pricing to meet revenue andprofitability goals
8. Develop sales tools and collateral
9. Working with Project Managers, Propose anoverall budget to ensure success
10.Brief and train the sales force at quarterlysales meetings
11.Brief press and analysts and go on presstours
12.Act as a leader within the company
The Requirements
The qualifiedcandidate will also possess the following qualities and attributes:
§Minimumof 5 years experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager
§Demonstratedsuccess defining and launching excellent products
§USCitizenship
§Fluencyin English, both written and spoken
§Afour year degree, MBA a plus
§Technicalbackground, with experience in software development, video products, visionscience technologies
§Provenability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
§Currentlyreside in, or be willing to relocate to Orange County, California
§Bewilling and able to make trips to our Oxford UK headquarters when required.
§Totaltravel may be up to 40%
§Havea tremendous ability to multi-task, prioritize and go the extra mile for ourclient base.
§Excellent analytic problem solving and criticalthinking skills
