Product Manager, International on Long Island, NY; Base Salary $70 -$90k with unlimited commission

This Product Manager is responsible for the execution of the day-to-day business for multiple product lines.  Daily tasks include, direct communication with OEM's, Regional Sales Managers (RSM's) and customers. The Product Manager is expected to build relationships with key contacts within each OEM, keep communication lines open and keep each Principal informed as to contract awards and prospects for each product line.  Timely reporting to each Principal is an important task that must be completed within the time frame outlined in each distributor agreement.  Daily tasks included responding to questions via email and letter, obtain pricing from OEM's, and providing pre and post-sale technical support to customers. Pay is based on experience: base salary $70 - $80K with unlimited commission potentialy 30-50% of base after first year. Relocation assistance considered.

 

The Product Manager is expected to:

 

1.  Define the product strategy and technology roadmaps

 

2.  Work with Marketing to set the vision for marketing and advertising

 

3.  Provide pre and post-sale technical support to customers

 

4.  Have the ability to build relationships with key contacts at OEM's

 

5.  Gain technical expertise on each product line through training, previous technical proficiency, and experience

 

6.  Be a self-starter and work effectively with minimal management supervision

 

Required experience and knowledge:

 

1.  Background in Technical Sales; aviation/avionics sales background prefered

 

2.  Ability to build personal relationships

 

3.  Show ability to multi-task in fluid environments

 

4.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

5.  Bachelor's degree

 

6.  Work effectively with minimal management supervision

 

7.  Excellent teamwork skills

 

8.  Experience working in international markets

 

9.  Must be able / willing to travel internationally up to 30%

 

10.   Expertise in use of technology and computers as sales and business tools.
