Production Supervisor

Ceradyne Thermo Materials ( http://www.ceradyne-thermo.com/), Inc., located in Clarkston, Georgia, is a world leader in the manufacturing of technical ceramic and engineered components.  This division of Ceradyne, Inc, with manufacturing operations in Atlanta and China, seeks an enthusiastic, hands on, organized, self starter that works well in a dynamic work environment as a Production Supervisor.

 The Production Supervisor duties include tracking production and delivery status, tracking inventory, conduct on-floor supervision, generate job orders and travelers, update production and program schedules.  Additionally, the Supervisor will track, schedule, and maintain maintenance data equipment, implement and revise training program as necessary to ensure product quality.  The Production Supervisor keeps Plant Manager and Operations Manager informed. 

 Essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Directs subordinate personnel in the day to day production activitiesConstructs and maintains schedules to forecast operations and to monitor progress of production to include reporting to management and internal customersActs upon direction from company management to ensure task completion and assigns workers as required based upon knowledge of workforce capabilitiesEvaluates the performance of equipment and tooling in order to direct changes and improvements to equipment and proceduresCognizant of any unsafe or unsatisfactory material condition existing with equipment or work area; Address such conditions swiftly or notifies managementMonitors the operation of equipment such as furnaces, dryers, forklifts, mills, pallet movers, and other related heavy equipment in order to conduct production operationsMonitors the operation of waste water systemsMaintain and administer data in logs, travelers, and computerOversee the shipment and receipt of goods into and out of the facilityOther duties as assigned

 Supervisory Responsibilities: To provide floor supervision, coaching, and enforcement of company policies.  Must also possess the ability to help develop/support staff.

 Education and/or Experience:High School Diploma1 or more years of experience in a supervisory role is desired Must be a Permanent US Citizen and be able to provide applicable documentation

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:Experience with MS office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook is requiredExperience with MS Project and MS PowerPoint is desiredMust be fluent in EnglishMust be proficient in mathematical operations including trigonometry and geometry Must have the ability to organize and disseminate information in a timely, professional manner;  Must be able to follow, review, write, and edit written technical instructions
