Production Supervisor (OPS Team Leader 033.08S)

Job Purpose

Under limited management, supervises the timely and cost effective production of company products or repair of parts to ensure that reliability and quality standards conform to customer, government and company requirements.

 Principal Accountabilities

1.  Supervises subordinate staff including, but not limited to, hiring, staff development, counseling and corrective action, training, performance evaluation and motivation.

2.  Supervises daily workload to meet production schedules.

3.  Working with VSL/Director, determines production schedule and means to meet schedule and customer requirements.

4.  Verifies employee hours worked.

5.  Evaluates current production/repair methods/processes, techniques, and standards  in order to recommend productivity and/or quality improvements using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.

6.  Resolves technical problems in work area.

7.  Assists in the development and maintenance of a business culture, which supports the Company's overall business objectives and goals, to include issues that involve “cost, quality, process, schedule and people”.

8.  Ensures the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.

9.  Fully complies with the "GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government" in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the United States Government. 

 

10.  Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

 Education

4-year degree, degree in process, or commitment to start degree as condition of employment.

 

Experience & Qualifications:

3 years supervisory experience in fabrication, machine shop, welding, or applicable manufacturing/repair.  Aerospace experience preferred. Demonstrated customer interface experience.

Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.

Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions.

Ability to work shifts.
