Location Carlsbad CAJob Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Business Area Growth: Candidates must have experience or potential to grow a business area in terms of strategic planning, profit and loss, customer interfacing, product evolution, marketing of the product line, interfacing with manufacturing, and working with senior management to get buy-in for their overall strategy. Product line roadmap generation is a must.Team Building: The Program Manager will assemble a top-notch staff of hardware, software, and system engineers to complete a complex system development for cutting edge mobile Satcom equipment. Proposal Preparation: The successful candidate must understand customer requirements and work with their Engineering team to create a system architecture and solution. The Program Manager will prepare proposals including cost and schedule estimates and will actively participate in contract negotiations.  Program Execution: The successful candidate will manage development efforts through design and verification stages while maintaining schedule and cost constraints. The Program Manager will be the primary customer interface throughout all program phases. Experience/Skills Required The qualified candidate will have a Bachelors degree and 8+ years of experience leading a development team in both a technical as well as administrative level. The Program Manager must be able to make technical decisions as well as develop, track, and maintain development schedules. In addition, the Program Manager will have the experience to develop an earned value budget, cost estimates, and report progress to management. Experience in customer interfacing is important. The qualified candidate must also possess strong team leadership skills. A current active government security clearance is a big plus. U.S. citizenship is required.
