Project Manager / Engineer

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics or other technical discipline.

1-3 years work experience.

Must be detail oriented.

A basic understanding of material behavior:  stress-strain curves, modulus, tensile/compressive/shear loading.

Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications.

Strong communication skills – both written and oral.

Mechanical aptitude.

A high level of organization and an ability to meet deadlines.

The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 Preferred Experience

Knowledge of materials testing techniques.

Knowledge of composite materials, especially aerospace composites.

Experience with mechanical test frames and data acquisition systems.

Knowledge of composite fabrication techniques (autoclave cure, RTM, wet layup, etc).

Experience with SolidWorks.

 Job Description

Within our organization, the Project Manager is responsible for a project from inception through final report.  All of the following processes may be involved in a typical project for our company:

- Fabrication of composites parts or test panels.

- Manufacture/machining of tight-tolerance test components and/or coupons.

- Reading and implementation of industry testing standards.  In some cases development of novel testing methods is required.

- Analysis of test results and performance of basic statistical operations on the data.

- Preparation of interim and final reports.

- Weekly, and often daily, communication with clients.

 

This is a salaried position paying $40-$50K (DOE) annually with medical, dental and retirement benefits (401K).  Pre-employment background check and illegal substance screening is mandatory.  Must be a US person.

Intec is a growing company with approximately 50 employees specializing in the testing and manufacture of composite materials.  We perform testing to characterize materials, evaluate fatigue and crack growth properties, qualify highly complex aerospace structures for flight and understand physical properties of materials.  Our manufacturing department builds everything from flat composite test panels to R&D structural components to short-run FAA certified production parts.
