QUALITY DIRECTOR

Triumph Fabrications - San Diego has earned a reputation for excellence through more than 50 years of supplying consistent quality products and services to the aerospace, defense and power generation markets. Its major area of expertise is producing close tolerance, complex sheet metal assemblies made from all types of aerospace materials using various forming and joining techniques. Our organization is currently looking for a strong QUALITY DIRECTOR who will develop, plan, and champion the organization's quality systems and principles and environmental compliance. The incumbent will have a successful track record in the following areas: *  Ability to persuasively "sell" methods of changes to staff and operations leaders.  Seen as champion of positive change. *  Implement strategic improvements with significant success with regards to company quality system which enhances productivity in the long-term. *  Proven success in reducing non-conformance and increasing customer OTD. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *  Formulates and maintains quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals. *  Interpret and champion quality programs and environmental requirements to key personnel. *  Develops and maintains the company’s FAA-approved Repair Station Inspection System. *  Prepares monthly/quarterly reports of quality costs, scrap/rework, non-conformance trends, and other quality performance measures for management review. *  Responsible for maintaining internal audit system and corrective Action System. *EH&S focal point during regulatory agency visits and environmental compliance audits. 



EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE *  BS in engineering or related field or equivalent; MS preferred. *10 years quality management experience in the aerospace industry. *  Prefer experience from a mechanical (vs. electrical) base, where the individual will have product credibility with fabrication aerospace customers. *A thorough understanding of ISO 9000, AS9100 and other industry quality specifications associated with mechanical aerospace products. *ASQ and Six Sigma Black Belt certified strongly preferred. *  Strong knowledge of SPC and CCA.
