Quality Assurance Engineer - Aerospace Industry

Overview:

This is in support of the International Supplier for the 747-8 Program startup.  Accepted Candidate will be required to relocate to Korea or Japan for the duration of the 747-8 Program startup.  Plans, organizes, directs, and reports on all supplier quality-related activities to assure AS-9100 Quality System Standard compliance to purchase order requirements. Assists Suppliers in processing Supplier Information Requests (SIR’s). Acts as a Liaison reporting to the Hawthorne Quality Engineering Organization.  Assures that supplier adheres to Customer imposed quality requirements. Monitors quality control activities and systems at supplier and subcontractor facilities, and maintains feedback loops. Reviews and analyzes corrective action reports and purchase orders in an effort to reduce and eliminate defects. Conducts reviews in accordance with established methods and procedures to assure supplier First Article Inspection process in accordance with AS-9102 International Standard. Must have experience with Aerospace Engineering, Specifications, Fabrication and Assembly processes, as well as a working knowledge of Catia and Coordinate Measurement data reports. Must be Microsoft Office literate, and be able to work in on-line planning modules.

Responsible for: 
a) Supplier surveillance to assure compliance with 3rd party approved AS 9100 quality system and customer imposed quality system requirements.
b) Verifying supplier compliance to customer purchase order requirements for procured product.
c) Supporting site stock purge process for all suppliers procured product.
d) Initiation of supplier corrective action and validation of associated supplier corrective action response.
e) Performance of product conformity audits.
f) Review of Engineering and customer planning to define First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements and subsequent performance for all programs.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will typically have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and ten years of related experience.
