Quality Technician
Provides support for the development and implementation of the company quality program, including coordination of effective Quality procedures and work instructions for all other departments. Exercises initiative and judgment to expedite significant matters with relation to quality issues.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Responsible for the maintenance of the company Quality Program.
2. Supports the development of the quality documentation.
3. Participates in the development and coordination of first piece, in process inspections, tests and product identification.
4. Assist plant management in the maintenance of quality plans, procedures, forms, work instructions and specifications.
5. Analyzes and evaluates quality metrics and provides input to plans and requirements for improvement initiates including Quality Assurance Requests (QAR’s).
6. Tracks corrective actions.
7. Supports Lean Continuous Improvement programs.
8. Work with outside vendors and suppliers in the resolution of quality issues.
9. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEWorking knowledge of Windows, MS Office Suite 2000 and AutoCad
Knowledge of and correct use of measuring instruments, blueprints and inspection procedures
Good math skills including knowledge of fractions and decimals. Trigonometry and Geometry preferred
Knowledge of ISO or QS or equivalent industry standards preferred
Able to work well with all disciplines in a Manufacturing environment as well as practices and exhibits good inter personal relationships
Willing and able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks in a timely manor
Good communication, analytical and writing skills
Able to work extended, off shift or weekend hours when required
Able to work without direct supervision when necessary
High school graduate or equivalent
