RF Section Manager

LOCATION: EL SEGUNDO, CA 90245 Job Description: The RF Section Manager (SM) performs the direct line management function for employees within the section including performance management, career development and resource allocation. He/she holds regular staff meetings to encourage open two-way communication. Reporting directly to the Space and Tactical Airborne RF Engineering department manager, the SM will support department and center activities as required such as recruiting, job fairs, proposals and technology planning. He/she will strongly support R6Sigma, CMMI, IPDS, RCCC/SBT and champion the implementation of new processes to the section’s projects. The role of the SM will require regular communication with program management, IPT leads and new business leaders to insure proper staffing plans are in place and resources (personnel, labs, equipment) are optimally assigned. SMs are expected to work the above issues full time. They will support programs in a variety of ways including leading Team-of-X meetings, Training, staffing, design process tailoring, chairing design reviews, technical and project management consulting however they will not serve as IPT leads. Required Skills: -10+ years experience in electrical engineering -Must have experience developing RF or microwave subsystems. -Hands-on experience with RF Test Equipment and RF Design -Must have experience in project management -Strong written and oral communication skills. -Strong judgment and decision making abilities. -Excellent follow through and persistence. -Strong advocate for process improvement (R6s). -Must have an Existing Secret security clearance. Desired Skills: -Good knowledge of analog, mechanical, and antenna design -Good team player; builds strong relationships with others at all levels and effectively partners with internal resources. -Customer focused. -Creative and open to new ideas. -Trustworthy, with exceptional integrity. -Willing and able to obtain special access clearances. -Cost estimation and proposal experience. -Team leadership. -Good Mentoring skills. Required Education (including Major): Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics. Master’s Degree desired.
