Reliability / Safety Engineer

Job Description:

Perform reliability, maintainability, and safety analyses in accordance with customer specifications, SAE ARP-4761, and MIL-Standard (810, 822, etc.).
Must be capable of efficiently running standard business applications for R/M/S specific applications RELEX and MS Access, etc.


Responsibilities:
1. Performs reliability prediction analyses including but not limited to component stress analysis, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removal (MTBUR) on existing/developing electronic and mechanical products. These analyses are performed at the system/functional block as well as component level.

2. Performs aircraft related reliability prediction analyses including dispatch and mission reliability predictions.

3. Develops systems/subsystems fault tree analyses.

4. Performs Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) and Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA).

5. Performs maintenance/maintainability analyses including Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), FAA Maintenance Steering Group 3 analysis (MSG-3), and direct maintenance cost analysis (DMC).

6. Performs system safety analyses including Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) and Fire Hazard Analysis.

7. Performs human factor/human engineering analysis.

8. Assists with planning of Reliability Enhancement Testing of electronic and mechanical components.

9. Develops and maintains the Reliability Handbook, which documents the R/M/S analyses of components and frequently used circuit designs for future programs use.


Minimum: BS in engineering, mathematics, or physics.



Desired: BSEE with 3 or more years experience in Reliability/Safety engineering of electronic systems
