SAP Basis Administrator - Contract to Hire Opportunity - Baltimore, MD

Yoh Aviation has a contract to hire opportunity for a SAP Basis Administrator to join our customer in Baltimore, MD. The estimated assignment period is three to six months.

The candidate will provide technical administration support for SAP applications on UNIX and Windows operating system.

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Implement and support SRM, XI, Live Auctioning and SAP Enterprise Portal.
• Research and resolve IT problems.
• Provide Technical IT consulting on SAP related projects.
• Provide SAP & third party interface software version updates; coordinate implementation of fixes/changes to application interfaces, and application client installations.
• Perform Capacity Planning across the SAP landscapes to ensure appropriate storage and/or processing capability of the technical infrastructure to improve efficiencies and increase productive of all processes.
• Monitor and tune the SAP landscapes utilizing CCMS and Solution manager to achieve optimum performance levels.
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Apply advanced Netweaver technical principles, theories and concepts.
• Address unusually complex technical problems and to provide solutions which are highly innovative.
• Install software SAP patches and/or updates.
• Perform proactive review of systems performance metrics and alerts to ensure event correlation and trend analysis are performed on a regular basis.
• Use CCMS and Solution manager to understand recurring incidents impacting user population, identify root cause, resolve problems, and implementing corrective actions.
• Assist DBA organization with system backup monitoring, backup failure troubleshooting, and restore requests.
• Review system logs to identify signs of potential problems.
• Evaluate software or system releases to determine compatibility.
• Coordinate system tuning to improve operational capabilities.
• Document systems infrastructure and maintain an accurate hardware and software inventory.

Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science degree in IFSM, Engineering or Computer Science.

Additional Requirements:
• A minimum of 5 to 8 years IT experience.
• SAP Application software administration experience required.
• Have experience with and be able to perform technical planning; ERP system integration; verification and validation; and cost benefit, supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Perform analysis at all levels of SAP system development including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and redeployment.
• Coordinate activities across various technical groups to ensure project delivery.
