SR. QUALITY ENGINEER

PCC Airfoils is seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer for the Painesville / Mentor, Ohio facility.  The Painesville facility is currently under construction and will begin operation in late fall 2008.  It will operate as a sister plant to the current Mentor, OH location.  Training will be conducted in Mentor until the Painesville plant is open for operation.

 

 

Sr. Quality Engineer - The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining quality standards and systems for a new expansion plant.  The ideal candidate will be one who has both the ability and desire to grow into a leadership role within the quality function.

 

Responsibilities and Specific Duties:

 

· Maintain, monitor and develop systems relating to ISO, AS9100, NADCAP and other similar industry standards.

· Develop and maintain Quality systems with the customer and manufacturing organization to ensure delivery of quality products.

· Direct involvement with advanced NDT development, training and implementation on strategic engine programs.

· Interface with customer representative for source inspections and quality issue resolution.

· Responsible for review of customer drawings, specifications, etc. to identify customer quality requirements – product and system.

· Prepare inspection instructions for radiographic, fluorescent penetrant, grain etch, visual and dimensional inspection.

· Perform audits to monitor product quality/ISO requirements and support manufacturing/inspection training activity as needed.

· Quality investigations as required to identify and eliminate scrap/rework causes and customer issues.

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters teamwork with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and clients.

 

Qualifications:

 

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:5-7 years of quality engineering experienceSubstantial experience working in an industrial gas turbine, aerospace, or similar environment; direct experience with ISO, AS9100, and NADCAP preferred Bachelor's of Science Degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experienceStrong communication skills and ability to deal with all levels of the organization as well as directly with customers
