SW Requirements Development Analyst
Summary:
Incumbent will use Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Source Safe, requirements management software and other tools to collect and analyze business requirements for Army STAMIS, Army approved applications, and other applications as assigned. The analyst will develop software requirements by collaborating with users, developers and maintenance experts. The analyst will develop requirements in use-case specifications, supplemental software, requirements traceability matrices and identification and development of business rules. The analyst will be expected to be able to decipher project schedules and planning documentation. It is also expected that the analyst will need to be aware of software lifecycle development and management practices. The analyst will need excellent verbal and written communication skills. There will be emphasis on interpersonal communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participate in requirements interviews and analysis sessions.
• Thorough knowledge of requirements analysis and definition practices.
• Knowledge of requirements management to include maintenance of requirements traceability matrices.
• Participate and lead requirements peer review sessions and other meetings.
• Develop required documentation such as Software Requirements Specifications and other documentation in accordance with published standards and processes.
• Comply with corporate and division software development processes.
• Support software quality assurance actions.
• Interact with the development team members in a constructive manner.
• Support the software development process.
• Maintain a cooperative and constructive working environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Security Requirements:
Employee will be required to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance while performing duties under this contract.
Education and/or Experience:
• B.S. or B.A. degree required in related technical field.
• Experience in a variety of software applications and programs including Microsoft Word.
• Experience in software engineering environments is desirable.
• Familiarity with software engineering practices and theories.
• Good English composition skills.
• Obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance.
• Knowledge government software engineering standards and documentation processes is desirable.
• Ability to interpret customer processes into detailed program requirements.
• Ability to write clear, concise thoughts, and to develop ideas in a written format.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and understand information from various sources. Ability to create reports and write correspondence that is clear and well organized. Ability to present information effectively to military and civilian chains of command. Ability to develop ideas in a written format.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to use basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, discounts, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Job-related skills:
Ability to communicate and work effectively with all military and civilian chain of command. Thorough understanding of basic computer operations. Working knowledge of MS windows, database management, and MS Office Professional programs such as Word or Excel.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee requires normal manual dexterity, speech and hearing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job require frequent use of a computer monitor. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Individual will be expected to stand for periods of an hour or more while working at Army field sites.
Work Environment:
Work is accomplished in a moderately clean office environment with adequate environmental (heating/cooling) control. The noise level in the work environment may occasionally be moderate due to noises associated with computer equipment, telephones, and environmental control systems. There will be occasions when the Analyst may be required to travel outside the office where mildly adverse working conditions may exist, such as Army equipment repair facilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
