Senior Avionics Systems Engineer - OUT OF THIS WORLD!

The Company
Our client is a world class manufacturer of propulsion systems for both human-rated and unmanned space launch vehicles, strategic missiles, global strike missiles, and missile defense interceptors. Our client serves both commercial and governmental customers, including prime contractors, NASA, and the US Military.
The Position
The Senior Avionics Systems Engineer will oversee the technical development of the avionics, TVC, and flight safety systems development, as well as manage the test laboratory, including technical personnel within the lab. This Engineer will also capture, define, verify, and validate pertinent requirements while supporting the installation of drawing development. The Senior Avionics Engineer will coordinate with and be responsible for subsystem departments and specialist support organizations, including safety, reliability, mechanical engineering, and system integration. In addition, he/she will also allocate and flow-down requirements of other subsystem and Line Replaceable Unit development teams. This Engineer will oversee and support the development of the system architectural modeling and performance analysis as well as development design reviews (PDR/CDR/DCR).
Candidate Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a BS and/or MS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Software/Computer), plus a minimum of 7 – 10 years of engineering experience. In addition, candidates should have the following:
¨ Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
¨ NASA systems and personnel experience
¨ Knowledge of Software/Firmware/DOORS/Matlab/Simulink
¨ Experience with highly integrated avionics systems (launch vehicle, aircraft, weapon systems, etc)
¨ Experience with communications, navigations, control systems, and model-based development
Compensation
The compensation range is up to $90K - $121K+ (depending on level of experience), plus annual performance merit process and annual performance schedule. In addition, the client offers a stimulating environment and an excellent opportunity to make a difference.
Location
This position is located in Huntsville, Alabama, home to both Redstone Arsenal and the Marshall Space Flight Center, and is nicknamed "The Rocket City" for its close history with US space missions. The Huntsville area has been important in developing space technology since the 1950s. In addition to this, mountains, lakes, woodlands, and the Tennessee River accommodate numerous recreational activities. A temperate climate enhances the season for outdoor sports, including world-class golf. Relocation assistance is provided.
