Job Category: Installation/Maintenance/Repair Job Requisition Number: Q10968 As a Desktop Support team member you will be providing technical support for desktop computers, applications, peripheral equipment, installations and VTC Conference rooms within established standards. Responsibilities include solving application and OS problems. This position requires a high level of communication with desktop staff and additional communication with teams such as the server team to resolve issues. You will research and resolve non-recurring problems and write documentation for installation instructions and remedial tips. Must Have the Following: U.S. Citizen. A good understanding of remedial and preventative maintenance for laptop, desktop, workstation and mobile workstations, printers, scanners, ergonomic devices and other peripherals is required. Upgrades and replacement of computer components such as PCI cards, Motherboard, CPU, CDRW/DVDRW, Hard Drive, and Memory is required. VTC and Conference room support experience. An in depth knowledge of Windows XP and Operating Systems is required. You should have experience writing scripts and installing engineering applications. You should be able to install COTS applications. You should have experience researching new applications. Some evaluating and testing of applications may be required on occasion. Documentation for software installations is required and understanding packaging requirements is a plus. 6+ Years with HS or 3+ Years with AA or 0+ Years with BS. This position requires a person with the ability to communicate well with desktop team members and other teams such as the server team or network operations to resolve issues. This person requires good deductive reasoning skills leaving little room for any inductive conclusions. We are looking for someone with the ability to research and resolve non-recurring problems, document installation instructions or remedial tips, research utilizing all resources, work well as a team member, good communication skills.
