Senior Electronics Engineer

The Senior Electronics Engineer in our High Reliability Electronics group leads engineering teams in the successful design and development of Power Processing equipment with emphasis on analog circuit design of high power DC to DC conversion. Aerojet is a premier supplier of electric propulsion thrusters and power processing units for in space flight. 30% - Plans, conducts and technically directs projects or major phases of significant project assignments and coordinates the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. 20% - Applies advanced techniques and the modifications and extension of theories, precepts and practices of own field and related sciences and disciplines. 20% - Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products or equipment, or a program function. 10% - Responsible for total cost and schedule responsibilities for significant efforts. 15% - Directs, coordinates and reviews the work of a small staff of engineers and/or technicians. 5% - Provides technical consultation to technical staff or other organizations as necessary. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 5 years experience in High Power (> 1KW), DC/DC Switch mode Power Supply Design. Advanced degree preferred. Also proven strong circuit simulation skills using SPICE or equivalent. Must have familiarity with Space and MIL-STDs electronics design requirements. Should have experience with the following: military and/or space electronics qualification and production programs, integrated product development and design for manufacturing, and EMI/EMC design and testing. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills. Must have U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person.
