In this position, you will: Utilize modeling software (e.g. Simulink) to design robust transmission control algorithms, utilizing the dynamic transmission model. Specify, design, develop, test, and document major electrical, electromechanical, electrohydraulic functions/subsystems for agricultural equipment projects. Have development responsibilities including design/specification of electronic hardware interface, as well as application software. Develop software per the John Deere Embedded Software Development Process. Lead functional/subsystem design/test requirement reviews and document results. Verify that subsystem meets requirements, through a combination of virtual and hardware based testing including; desktop, bench, vehicle simulator testing. Support electronic hardware design group with requirements. Analyze current production/experimental issues, develop an understanding of the root cause and create appropriate action plans to resolve these issues. Provide technical support during system field-testing activities on an as needed basis. Provide necessary design documentation to support development of service publications. Education Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other equivalent technical discipline. Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is desired. Required Skills and Experience Experience in subsystem design and software development. Experience with control systems design and analysis. Experience with embedded software control systems. Experience with C/C++ programming language and software development tools for embedded micro-controllers in mobile applications. Good understanding of electronic hardware (reading schematics and component data sheets, operating meters, oscilloscopes and emulators). Experience with electronic circuit test tools and simulation tools to assist in analysis and verification of functional/subsystem design.  Good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a team environment.
