We are currently recruiting for a Senior Linux Systems Analyst. The Analyst will be responsible for server administration and support for Linux environment to include Oracle Applications and Database Infrastructure, DNS/DDNS/DHCP infrastructure, Web proxy services, and Star-CCM Computational Fluid Dynamics High Performance Cluster. The Analyst will also participate as a key member of the Oracle Infrastructure replacement project and support miscellaneous lab machines. The Analyst will be required to monitor and perform technical analysis of computer and network HW/SW for the purpose of troubleshooting, upgrading and maintaining systems and services. This position will also be responsible for on-call/remote support for systems and services under your direction.
Successful candidates must possess a BS Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems. Experience and skills may substitute for degree. RHCE certification preferred. Minimum of 8 years experience maintaining high end server hardware and server operating systems with at least 3 years of specialization in Linux is required. Must have experience in the following areas: configuring server hardware under Linux to include HBA's, SCSI devices, RAID controllers, SAN and/or NAS storage devices, and OCFS/GFS file systems; architecting and/or maintaining DNS/DDNS/DHCP infrastructure using Bind; and in supporting and troubleshooting complex infrastructures to include a broad mix of servers, clients, and connectivity requirements. Available for on-call/remote support and change implementation after normal business hours. Additional experience in the following areas are considered a plus: Experience with High Performance Clusters, Blade Server technologies, Virtual Machine technologies, other Linux operating systems (Fedora, Centos, SUSE, etc), CommVault backup software, Windows/Windows Server, Novell, HP-UX, EMC/Dell CX series SAN's, platform/OS migration efforts, Active Directory, NDS, LDAP, Aventail, intrusion detection, Cisco, and Remedy. Must be intimately familiar with networking protocols and architectures, have excellent documentation/communications and research skills, and maintain high levels of end-user satisfaction. The candidate must be a self-starter, work under basic general direction, and be capable of quickly identifying, reporting, and resolving issues. Familiarity in planning and scheduling project activities, working within the guidelines set forth by IT Policies, work instructions, ITIL, and IT/corporate security requirements including ISO and SOX. Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.
