Senior Manager L - Alternative Investments Position Description Boeing is the world's leading aerospace company and the largest combined manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft. Consistent with Boeing's long standing tradition of leadership and innovation, Trust Investments, responsible for managing $80 Billion in assets, is seeking a Senior Manager - Alternative Investments for its Trust Investments team. The Senior Manager - Alternative Investments will be responsible for providing analytical, reporting and operational support primarily to the Directors of the Hedge Fund and Private Equity programs. In this capacity, this individual will assist with the preparation of Investment Committee presentations as well as complying with all reporting requirements. Well-developed interpersonal skills are required as well as strong analytical and writing skills. Experience with financial pronouncements is a plus. Competencies General/Leadership [ + ] Business (Financial) Acumen Accurately performs substantial quantitative financial calculations and/or understands and explains the implications of financial graphs, charts, tables, etc to team members and fellow middle managers. Integrates financial data effectively allowing for the identification of key issues, decision-making criteria, and the determination of strategies and plans. Uses appropriate financial strategies and systems to maximize cash flow and limit risk to the organization. [ + ] Analytical Skills Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources at the business unit level. Serves as a resource for first level managers, direct reports, and matrixed employees. [ + ] Applied Accounting Principles Extensive knowledge of applied accounting principles (e.g., interest theory, numerical analysis, probability and statistics, risk management, demography) to perform present value calculations and/or analyze issues (e.g., benefits, employee pensions, financial planning, cash flow management). [ + ] Financial Markets/Institutions Extensive and specialized knowledge of the roles and products of banks, investment banks, investors and insurance brokers and the dynamics of the markets they represent. [ + ] Investment Knowledge Extensive knowledge of investment and commercial banking techniques, methods, and practices. [ + ] Presentation Skills/Techniques Complete knowledge of and ability to employ innovative presentation techniques (e.g., posture, speaker's relationship to audience, use of intonation and props, use of visual aids and pacing). Ability to coach first level managers, direct subordinates, matrixed employees and other presenter (e.g., customers). [ + ] Trust Ops & Risk Mgmt Extensive knowledge of risk/reward prioritization and analysis for investment opportunities (e.g., capital markets, portfolio management theory, asset allocation, applying due diligence and analysis of track record). Education and/or Experience Other Job related information Approximately 10-20% of time is required business travel. The preferred candidate will have three to five years of total investment experience.
