Senior Marketing Manager

Sales/Retail/Business Development Relevant Work Experience:   10+ to 15 Years Company:   Battelle Reference Code:   BT15261 Senior Marketing Manager The selected candidate will be responsible for the management of our Battelle Fort Monmouth Operation as well as business development and market penetration. Responsible for the growth and development of the business as well as the technical quality of products produced. Responsible for the coordination of the capabilities of Battelle's National Security Global Business (NSGB) Product Lines in response to C4ISR business opportunities emanating from the Fort Monmouth Communications Electronics-Life Cycle Management Command (CE-LCMC), CERDEC and PM/PEO Communities. Develops and implements short and long term Business Plans for the Battelle Fort Monmouth Operation including planning for the transition of those operations to the Battelle Eastern Science and Technology (BEST) Center, Aberdeen, MD, in conjunction with the relocation of CERDEC, CE-LCMC, and PM/PEO Communities operations to Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG). Will develop and manage a local (Fort Monmouth area and Aberdeen area) technical and administrative staff consistent with the nature and volume of business. Major Responsibilities: 1. Assists in the development of Business Plans and marketing strategies including plans to optimize sales, growth, and market penetration for the C4ISR market. 2. Leads on-site business development activities and manages and conducts proposal efforts to capture sales. 3. Develops staffing plans and participates in recruiting and hiring activities consistent with business requirements. Manages the day to day technical and administrative work activities of any staff assigned to the local office. 4. Functions as the Battelle Program Manager and/or directs the activities of assigned Program Managers for all Contracts and Subcontracts awarded to Battelle by Fort Monmouth or by a Fort Monmouth Prime Contractor. 5. Maintains effective client relationships at all levels of management to gather information relative to up coming acquisitions and priority systems engineering, logistic and sustainment project needs and priority research and development needs. 6. Evaluates and qualifies leads to determine priority status, availability of funding, and client readiness to commit resources. 7. Collaborates with all NSGB Product Lines and other business group management and technical staff to develop and provide market definitions responsive to client needs and market opportunities that are properly aligned to Battelle's business objectives and capabilities. 8. Communicates viable leads to appropriate management for further evaluation and assists in the identification of technical staff to be included in the lead development effort. 9. Continually reviews progress towards marketing and sales goals to ensure attainment of objectives, reporting progress to management. 10. Initial sales expectation of $10M in two years growing to $20M in five years. 11. Continually monitor and assess Fort Monmouth/APG BRAC Relocation preparations. Develop and implement transition plans consistent with these preparations to ensure the most effective ramp-up of supporting activities at the BEST Center. Minimum Job Requirements: This position requires experience in Army Logistics, Sustainment and Research and Development programs as well as an in-depth knowledge of CERDEC, CE-LCMC, and PM/PEO Community clients. This position requires a broad grasp of the involved practices and precedents which is usually represented by 15 or more years of direct experience. Requires thorough knowledge of the Army business market in the C4ISR community which includes experience in Army procurement processes as well as financial programming and budgeting. The ability to perceive and conceptualize market opportunities as well as evaluate these opportunities based on profit /loss is a requirement. Must possess effective human relations, sales, prioritization and strategic planning skills and the ability to work autonomously are required. - Demonstrated experience in program management, team leadership, DoD business clients and previous C4ISR experience is required. - Thorough knowledge of the C4ISR government and industry communities located in the Ft Monmouth area. - Military background is a strong plus. - Extensive experience in applied engineering, technical project development/execution, business development and financial oversight. - Secret Clearance, with eligibility to obtain/maintain TS level of government security clearance. Specific Experience: - Minimum of 20 years experience in electrical engineering and/or computer science - Minimum of 10 years experience in Engineering and/or Business management - Experience in Program/Project Management - Experience with Communications and electronics client base - 5 years supervisory experience Preferred Qualifications An established network of clients with CERDEC, CE-LCMC, and PM/PEO decision makers coupled with a proven track record in business development success. In depth knowledge of current CERDEC, CE-LCMC, and PM/PEO prime suppliers and their products is highly desirable. Certification in program management and actual experience in profit /loss evaluation is a strong plus. Level of Education: Required BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field MBA desired Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
