Senior Propulsion Engineer- FAA DER Powerplant and Fuel Systems

We're seeking an FAA DER Powerplant and Fuel Systems, who should have an engineering degree and extensive experience in certifying business jet class aviation aircraft.  In this role, you will perform design and technical support for all propulsion activities, interface with GE/Honda Aero, and perform design assessments and changes as well as ongoing design activities.  You'll be instrumental in the layout, design, and certification efforts of the propulsion system, including fuel systems, vendor oversight, systems requirement specifications, systems descriptions, qualiifications plans and all attendant ground and flight test support.  You should understand fuel system control logic algorithms and have a good understanding of FADEC software.  You should be experienced in propulsion system monitoring, troubleshooting, and real-time data/systems analysis.  Must have experience in integrating powerplants and airframes.  You should also be knowledgable in certification strategies including showing compliance with regulations, writing test plans and reports, witnessing tests, and processing FAA forms and reports. You also need extensive experience in engine installation and the development, design, and certification of aircraft fuel systems and fuel system components including development and specification of pumps and valves.  A strong background in valves, sensors, and pumps for the powerplant, fuel systems, tube routing, and fire extinguishing system is essential.  You must also have experience in the design, test and certification of generator cooling systems, engine starting, fuel heating, and nacelle cooling systems.  You should also have experience in systems engineering and test of complex propulsion, guidance, avionics and control systems.  A successful candidate for this role should have experience preparing certification reports for the fuel system, fuel system lightning protection, engine installation, and fire protection systems.  BS Electrical or Aerospace Engineering + an FAA DER, JAA and EASA experience wold also be a plus.  Need to be deeply knowledgable in CFR 14 Part 23, have a working knowledge of CATIA v5, in areas such as engine mounts, nacelles, fuel induction systems, duct design, heat exchangers, and tubing.
