Minimum Qualifications/Education/Experience (or equivalent combination of experience and education):A Bachelor Degree in a technical discipline plus at least six (6) years experience working in the aerospace manufacturing industry is required. The bachelor's degree requirement may be waived upon evidence of an equivalent direct experience in the duties specific to the position. Work experience must be in problem definition and resolution of complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems used in the aerospace industry.Skills Needed:Able to work independently as well as part of a team to reach assigned goals. Able to develop, evaluate, and improve documentation processes compliant to aerospace industry standards and expectations. will need to be functional in quality management systems (e.g. AS9100, ISO9001, TS16949 or equivalent). Articulate in the presentation of aerospace hardware and systems problems to technical professionals to initiate resolutions. Broad technical knowledge of aerospace items that includes structures, mechanical assemblies, propulsion and ordnance products, pneumatic systems, Printed Wiring Boards, Circuit Card Assemblies, cabling, electronic, and electrical device. Familiar with the terminology used in welding, NDT, metal process, and electronics manufacturing. ASQ Certification (CQE) or Six Sigma training a plus. Experienced with Excel, Work, Access, and PowerPoint software required.Duties Specific to the Position:This position is in the Quality Assurance department of a major aerospace manufacturer of space launch vehicles. Candidate will review assemble drawings, test documentation, and inspection work instructions for proper incorporation of workmanship standards and inspection requirements. Will work with Engineering and Manufacturing staff to resolve integration issues. Will assist inspection staff with inspection operations and data review. Will initiate discrepancy reports, and participate in disposition and oversight of the containment/root cause/corrective action process along with internal and external customers. Will review/approve drawings. Will review data packages and prepare presentations for hardware acceptance reviews in preparation for source inspections. Other duties as assigned.EOE/M/F/V/D BS or equivalent experience and four years of related experience is required.
