Senior RF Engineer

• Possess detailed knowledge of systems design and analysis for RF designs
• Possess detailed knowledge of RF component level design and circuit analysis
• Possess detailed knowledge of RF circuit board design techniques
• Detailed knowledge of PCB design tools
• Possess detailed knowledge of system verification, qualification, and acceptance testing techniques and requirements
• Possess knowledge of RF System and Circuit Design/Analysis Tools (e.g. ADS, Genesys, etc.)
• Possess knowledge on the operation of RF system test & verification equipment
• Possess detailed knowledge of design documentation configuration management processes
• Ability and desire to support limited technical interface with customer
• Ability & desire to mentor Jr. RF Engineers
• Knowledge of standard quality processes


Responsibilities:

• RF System knowledge and understanding
• Printed Circuit Board (PCB) level design
• Component level RF design and circuit analysis
• Failure root cause analysis and corrective action reports
• Use of RF System and circuit design/analysis tools
• Use of PCB design tools (Capture & Layout)
• RF Design Engineering Test and Evaluation (ET&E)
• Use of Standard RF design verification test equipment (Vector Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, etc.)
• Use of common test & verification SW tools (e.g. LabView)
• Creation and management of design documentation
• Support of New Product Introduction (NPI) to manufacturing
• Co-author verification, qualification, and acceptance test plans
• Quality process execution
• Mentor Jr. RF Engineers


Job Description:

The SR. RF design engineer will be a key member of the design team, applying detailed knowledge of RF systems to conduct systems analysis and design in compliance with product requirements. The Sr. RF design engineer will apply knowledge of PCD design and analysis tools and techniques to perform, board level, “hands on” circuit analysis, design, and bench level verification testing of GPS RF signal distribution equipment for aircraft and land based systems. The Sr. RF design engineer will also generate and manage design documentation and support the design through the NPI process. Lastly, the SR. RF Engineer will co-author verification, qualification, and acceptance test plans consistent with standard quality process and will mentor Jr. RF Engineers. All while working in a positive, highly motivated team environment with a focus on maintaining project schedule and budget.


Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, desired.
• 7 Plus years of board level RF design experience.
• A working knowledge of RF engineering techniques as applied to large projects.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with aerospace systems is strongly preferred.
• Global Satellite Navigation System (GNSS) knowledge is preferred.
• Familiarity with PCB design and simulation software is a must.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Good computer skills.
