FLIR Systems, the world’s leading supplier of innovative airborne and ground based infrared and visible light imaging systems for military, law enforcement and commercial applications, is currently seeking a qualified candidate who will be part of our Portland – Customer Service, Operations team.

With minimal supervision, this individual will be required to perform diagnosis and troubleshooting of complex IR products at a system level, down to the component level is required, which will result in the successful repair and maintenance of FLIR Systems airborne and maritime gimbal products. Reading schematics, drawings, and data sheets without assistance is a must.

This technician will also assist internal and external customers (via in-person, phone, email, etc.) to resolve service issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conduct routine repair, diagnosis, service, support and upgrades to all Airborne and
Maritime Gimbal Systems products.

2. Assist Engineering in development and implementation of system upgrades, ECM's, and new
product implementation.

3. Develop standard repair and maintenance procedures which will be documented to
Company, and AS9100 standards.

4. Provide technical support in the development of customer service spare parts inventory,
including establishing requirements for contents and quantities.

5. May be required, from time to time, to effectively provide customer support via telephone
regarding technical repair issues.

6. Provide accurate repair cost estimates.

7. Support the servicing of demo and rental equipment.

8. Perform other job related duties as required.



Requires a minimum of 5-7 years prior work experience in a related field. AS degree in electronics or equivalent required. Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills, proficient with using electronic test equipment required, e.g., oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, and signal generators. Good interpersonal and telephone communication skills are required. A good technical knowledge of computers and computer peripherals. A good working knowledge of computer software, particularly the Windows platforms. Preferred candidate will have 1-3 years prior experience servicing thermal imaging equipment. Also requires ability to lift equipment up to and exceeding 50 lbs
