Job Category: Computers, Software Job Requisition Number: Q10973 We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work as part of the STOP development team (http://www.baesystems.com/ProductsServices/bae_prod_csit_xtsstop7.html). The candidate will plan, design, document, implement, test, and support a variety of security-related applications for the STOP platform.Example projects may include:A next-generation, high-performance message transport and content filtering engine.A secure multi-level file server (i.e. Samba).Porting existing open-source applications to work on the STOP operating system.The tools we typically use to develop our software include the GCC toolchain, VMWare, uClibc, make, subversion, Bugzilla, Mediawiki, etc.The candidate will interact with people at a variety of levels, such as operating system developers, customers, and program managers. Must Have the Following: US Citizen. Four to ten years of demonstrable software development experience. Highly proficient in C programming. Familiarity with UNIX/Linux system calls (the section 2 man pages). Network socket programming experience. Proficient scripting skills in at least one common language (Perl, Python, Shell, etc.). Highly proficient in a Linux environment. This position requires familiarity with software debugging tools and techniques such as strace/ltrace, gdb, performance benchmarking and investigation, code coverage analysis (gcov), and memory allocation debugging techniques. 8+ Years with BS or 6+ Years with MS or 3+ Years with PhD. Self-starter capable of working independently with little direct supervision. Willingness to participate in a team environment with informal peer reviews of design and code. Superior analytical and problem solving skills. Prefer to Have the Following: C++ and/or Java.
