Senior Space Vehicle Systems Specialist

ERC, Incorporated has an immediate for a Senior Space Vehicle Systems Specialist at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.  Duties include:  Act as the primary “expert” on specific Orion (Crew Exploration Vehicle – CEV) and Ares (Launch Vehicle) systems and subsystems for the team, which is developing the Constellation Training Facility (CxTF). The CxTF will provide capabilities to train crew and flight controllers on the operational behavior of Constellation vehicles and safe execution of Constellation missions. The scope of the CxTF simulation will range from single vehicle systems to fully integrated systems encompassing multiple vehicles. The scope of training in the CxTF will range from a single mission phase to multiple mission phases over the duration of a flight. Gather, assess, and synthesize the space vehicle subsystem design, milestone (or schedule) and performance data and provide that data to the CxTF model developers. Perform engineering analyses related to the CEV and Launch Vehicle systems for developing the CxTF models to assess the model requirements, make recommendations regarding model requirements, and provide detailed information regarding subsystem performance and features. Provide assessment of CxTF model and simulation performance, integration, and special features related to the CEV and Launch Vehicle systems and subsystems.Perform other tasks as required. Travel will be required to become familiar with the space vehicle systems as they are being developed and tested.  This position requires a strong systems engineering and integration background. Basic knowledge and skills: sufficient skills to perform assignments with a large degree of independence. A working knowledge of flow charts, schematic drawings, and normal documentation skills, writing and understanding, is required. The position requires familiarity with Space Vehicle Systems and Subsystems. Familiarity with training, trainers, and operations is highly desirable. Must meet eligibility requirements to receive and maintain a DoD security clearance. Bachelor's degree required with 5 years of experience.
