Job Description: The Senior Test Engineer (TE) will be permanently based in the production facility in Pittsfield, MA, with requirements to spend a significant amount of travel to Cambridge, MA to support customer development activities. The TE will be responsible for the technical transition of information from the design agency to the production facility during the implementation of a new Defense program. During implementation, the TE will be responsible for process development, design evaluation of system test equipment, and extensive process documentation, while working as a liaison to provide technical feedback between the designers and end-users. The TE will be responsible for keeping the production facility informed of all developments related to the design and implementation of the new program. Once implementation is completed, the TE will reside in Pittsfield, MA, as a subject matter expert, to support the test and production requirements of the new program. Prime responsibilities will include engineering support of test equipment and processes, manufacturing processes, diagnosis of hardware failures, and process improvement. Prime hardware to be supported is an electronics flight computer system and a mechanical inertial measurement unit. Support of manufacturing processes and interface with Manufacturing Engineers will be a subset of this assignment. The successful candidate must be a high energy/self starting individual who is willing to support customer and program requirements beyond traditional Electrical Engineering requirements. The candidate must be capable of achieving respect from Customers, Peer Engineers as well as the Program Manager, and be sought out by the program team for solutions related to program issues . The candidate should be goal oriented with a history of delivering high quality results to a stringent schedule. Required Skills: - Minimum of 8 years of related experience. - Competent and experienced electronics background in Digital and Analog electronics. - Solid electronics understanding and electronics trouble shooting skills. - Experienced in the utilization of general lab equipment - oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc. - Standard Microsoft office computer skills. - Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. Existing clearance preferred. Desired Skills: - Test Equipment design & integration, and operational knowledge of Guidance systems. - Experience with Mechanical Engineering, Software development and Information Technology. - Experience in commercial design tools (e.g., ProE, CAD) - Knowledge of software development tools (e.g., Doors, Clearcase) - Knowledge of the Trident Mk6 Guidance system and equipment Required Education: BS in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline. An additional 8 years of experience may substitute for a degree.
