Senior Tool Design Engineer

Description:
• Develop complex mechanical tooling necessary to support assembly of complex DoD products. Technologies include: Microwave, Circuit Card, Electro-Optical, Composite Assembly
• Develop and document jigs, fixtures, gages, and tools in support of low- mid volume, high complexity electro-mechanical and/or electro-optical assemblies. Tools must meet close tolerance requirements and provide considerations toward Lean Manufacturing principles (Poke-yoke, ease of use, SMED).
• Evaluate existing tools and processes and make recommendations for tooling/process improvements to improve repeatability, process quality and efficiency.
Requirements:
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 5-7 years of hands-on complex tool design experience supporting high reliability assembly processes utilizing precision alignment, thermal processing and/or adhesives. Proficient in Pro-Engineer CAD Wildfire 3 and ProIntralink. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5. Knowledge of current manufacturing processes and machine shop practices for fabrication of tools and fixtures. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
