Software Engineer, DPHM/Analysis

We are looking for dynamic, self-starting candidates with strong analytical skills to provide technical leadership in the area of Diagnostics, Prognostics, and Health Management for propulsion systems. Candiates at all levels are encouraged to apply.

The job involves developing innovative analytical solutions for diagnostics and prognostics of existing and future aircraft engines. Experienced candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to carry these solutions from theory to final product. The job requires the ability to develop requirements and prototypes for diagnostic algorithms, work with implementers to finalize the product, develop procedures for testing and validation, and work with customers as they adapt new procedures.

The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills which are critical to working in a team environment with other Pratt & Whitney organizations. He or she should be able to deal with diverse groups of individuals while focusing on results. In addition, the candidate will be expected to interact with internal and external customers and suppliers. Ability to develop strong technical presentations for different types of audiences is essential.


BS in Engineering. MS or PhD preferred.

Degrees in Computer Science or Applied Mathematics with relevant experience will also be considered.

For entry level candidates the following coursework is required in addition to core engineering and mathematics curricula: Linear Algebra, Statistics, Thermodynamics, Controls.


Candidates are solicited at all levels. Any experience with diagnostics and prognostics, controls, signal processing, or sensor system integration would be preferred.

At least two years experience using Matlab. Familiarity with Simulink is a plus.

Expertise in collaborative tools within MS Office including MS Project is required.


The following will enhance the candidacy

* Familiarity with software development process.
* Experience in the engine service (MRO) industry, field support, aftermarket supply chain, etc.
* Aerospace industry experience, and particularly aircraft engine experience.
