Job Title: Software Engineer II, Software Configuration Management Job Description: Perform Software Configuration Management (SCM) tasking to include use of SCM tools, IBM Rational Clearcase (CC) and ClearQuest. Tasks include configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, configuration verification and audits, product release and delivery, and preparing and executing software compiles builds and deployment. Identify problems and provide solutions to a variety of SCM technical problems. Everyday responsibilities range from developing scripts to support software build cycles and deployments, providing CC support to development team and developing, improving and training the SCM processes. Ability to develop and maintain SCM tools using such languages as: Perl, shell scripting, C++ and Java. Awareness of ISO or CMMI CM standards. Requires communicating SCM status to CM leads and program management. Experience with Solaris OS, Clearcase administration for a Windows platform, process development/improvement. Strong presentation skills. Experience working independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment a strong plus. Required Skills: - Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or a related science or engineering field. Ten (10) years directly related experience may substitute for education. - Minimum 2 years experience using IBM Rational Clearcase administration on a Unix or windows platform. - 2+ years experience with Perl, shell scripting, C++ or Java - 2+ years experience with software configuration management with the ability to perform build management (compiling, linking), release management (capturing and installing software baselines), and develop and provide SCM training presentations. - 2+ years experience using Microsoft word and Excel. - US CITIZENSHIP WITH ELIGIBILITY TO OBTAIN AN SSBI SECURITY CLEARANCE. Required Education(including Major): Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or a related science or engineering field. Experience may substitute for education.
