Software Engineer R&D

Perform software development and maintenance of all software tools used by engineering using object oriented design techniques, with minimal supervision.  Must have proven technical capabilities in the integration of hardware and software systems for flight simulation devices and detailed knowledge of object oriented software techniques used in the software industry.

 

· Responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, testing, documenting, and supporting object oriented software used by engineers to produce, debug and document simulation models. 

· Must be able to interface with all engineering departments in order to create use cases and develop and architecture for the tools under development.

· Must help deploy and support tool by writing user guides and giving small courses.

· Must be able to perform effectively as part of a project "team".

 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

· Expected to have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows based development environments including MS Visual Studio and .NET.

· C#, Java and SQL database knowledge is a plus.

· May include travel to home office in Montreal and to various US Military bases.

· Applicant must be a US Citizen and be eligible for US DoD Personal Security Clearance.

 Education and/or Experience

· Minimum of four year degree in computer science, engineering or Mathematics.

· Master degree is a plus.

· Must possess at least 2 years experience in the software production industry.

· Technical areas of expertise should include knowledge of real time simulation programming and distributed object computing.

· Detailed knowledge of object oriented analysis, design, and implementation methodologies. Experience should include using object oriented frameworks and documenting object oriented design solutions using Universal Modeling Language (UML).

· Must have 4+ years experience developing software using C++/C#, or JAVA and familiarity with SQL.

· Must have had formal software programming training classes within the past 5 years.

· Related skill areas should include technical writing and presentation skills. 

· Secret security clearance is a plus.
