Software Engineer (SM)

Thales is a leading international manufacturer of in-flight entertainment systems for both Boeing and Airbus commercial aircraft. This product and comprehensive support package has put the company into a high growth, strong competitive position. By 2007, Thales expects to captures 50% of the available IFE market.

 

SUMMARY

Performs intermediate to difficult software design engineering assignments. Analyzing and troubleshooting issues reported from internal and external customers and to provide feasible solution in a timely manner.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

1. Technical planning and organizing technical projects in design and development of major bug fixes and enhancement for the IFE system.

 

2. Conduct thorough analysis and investigation on software bugs reported from the field and from FSATs.

 

3. Analyzes software requirements and design to ensure the stability of the software.

 

4. Follow software development process to be able to create Software Requirement Document, Software Architecture Specification, Software Detailed Design Document and Software Test Document.

 

5. Identify feasible solutions to problems reported; clearly presents all technical details to other engineers in writing and verbally.

 

6. Communicate effectively internally and externally on project status.

 

7. Practice good design and engineering practices to produce high quality and sustain ability standard of deliverables.

 





 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
