Specialist III (Occupational Safety)

For quick consideration apply hereResponsibilities include: Conducting facility and operational safety reviews. Supporting the identification and abatement of potential hazards. Conducting accident investigations and analysis (including near misses). Developing safety policies and procedures. Providing guidance on various safety and health programs including: regulatory requirements, ergonomics, safety and health training, emergency programs (First Aid, CPR and AED), safety marketing and publications, respiratory protection, material handling equipment (cranes, forklifts, etc.), fall prevention and protection, lock-out/tag-out, hazard communication, behavior-based safety, JSAs, JHAs and SOPs. Developing and documenting safety best practices. Identifying, coordinating and conducting safety compliance and awareness training. Identifying, developing and driving safety initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or related discipline and 5 years applicable experience; or a Master’s Degree in Safety or related discipline and 3 years applicable experience. Experience must include proven ability in the development of safety strategies and initiatives. Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must to effectively interface with all levels of the organization. Behavior-Based or People-Based Safety experience is preferred. This position calls for an experienced safety professional who has exceptional leadership skills. Must be able to obtain and retain a security clearance. No relocation assistance is available.
