Sr. Applications Engineer  Dublin, CA 

 

Lead, or actively contribute, to the development of new products, and technically support Hexcel customers in using these new products. Also maintains expertise in one technical skill, and/or one current Hexcel product line to technically support customers with new applications. Support (short term) then lead the development of structural analysis techniques for HexMC aerospace parts. Coordinate efforts with all parties involved, including consultants, manufacturing plant, test labs, customers, certification agencies. Develop and manage material and design allowable test projects for HexMC family of materials and technologies. Conduct advanced structural analysis for the Application Technology group especially for composite solutions, including HexMC and sandwich panels. 

 

Position requirements:

BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, MS preferred. Minimum 8 years experience with high performance carbon composite materials and structures, including non linear analysis. Capable of running Nastran/Pastran as well as Catia V4 or V5 or SolidWorks. Must be capable of conducting analysis "by hand" for load cases not well analyzed by FEA such as bearing, crippling, etc. Aerospace industry experience preferred, compression molding experience a plus and technical project management experience required. Must have a record of being a self starter and a team player.
