Sr. Designer - CATIA V4

Airbus North America Engineering - Mobile is a satellite office of Airbus North America Engineering (ANAE) engaged in the design, engineering, and analysis of aircraft interiors, interior systems, and cargo systems.  The Sr. Designer - Payloads is responsible for computer-aided design of aircraft cabin and/or cargo components and systems.

 PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Develop solutions to a variety of complex engineering problems requiring judgment and ingenuity to work within current engineering protocols of cabin/cargo design, development and analysis.

· Design development of drawings and models, pre-feasibility studies, full-feasibility studies, integrated studies and definition, and clash investigation and resolution.

· Application of internal standards assuring consistent design practices.

· Revise models and designs based on manufacturing and/or design requirements.

· Create Technical Specifications.

· Check and correct models to current internal design and manufacturing standards.

· Interface as needed with stress engineers, DMU, drafters, and supplier technical management personnel to assure manufacturability of engineering designs.

· Prepare engineering models and documents that meet or exceed compliance with engineering principles, regulatory requirements, company standards and customer contract requirements and apply those requirements.

· Able to lead small design groups preferred.

· Provide input to the design engineering elements of the integrated project plan.

· Travel required 10% (some international).



 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION GUIDELINES:

· A Minimum 9,000 hours applied CAD experience CATIA V4 experience is preferred.

· Minimum 10 years industry experience.

· Must have strong capability in MS Office Word, and PowerPoint.

· Must have understanding in MS Office Excel and Project.

· Able to read engineering drawings and schematics.

· Understanding of the basic principles of aircraft design, structural analysis methods, processes and deliverables.

· Ability to write reports, specifications, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

· Ability to assist/mentor others in CAD procedures and standards.

· Able to work independently or in diverse teams.
