The ITT Space Systems Division Hardware Design Group is looking for a Sr. Electrical Engineer for its Clifton, NJ, facility. In this position you will derive and develop electrical hardware architectures and designs that meet customer requirements for space hardware development programs. Design Skills: Individual will be responsible for design, development and documentation of high-performance RF/microwave circuits, modules and assemblies for space applications. These applications cover a broad range of technologies including high-power transmitters, wide-dynamic-range receivers, analog interfaces and A/D conversion. Communication system designs include using discrete and RF components as VCOs, synthesizers, PLLs, LNAs, Power amplifiers, etc., and/or they may require the integration of off-the-shelf modules and chip sets. The candidate must have an in-depth knowledge of RF filters, L.O.s, noise figure, gain, and matching. Assignments may include design of audio circuits incorporating discrete components and ICs (active/passive filters, mixers, op amps), test and troubleshooting of transducer circuits and/or various audio pre-amplifiers utilizing op amps and transistors. Tasks include providing test circuit designs, schematic capture, Printed Circuit Board layout team assistance, RF link analysis, RF system-level testing and troubleshooting support. Communication Skills: Responsibilities include leading a small, multifunctional team tasked with communication system oriented new product development. Support is also provided to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, component qualification, field-testing and similar activities as required. The candidate shall assist with project management plans, document analyses results in reports to the customer, analyses results in formal reviews via oral presentation and Power Point slides. The candidate shall be experienced in fostering support from other disciplines and be capable in maintaining positive working relationships with all design team members. Requires BSEE degree with 6-10 years relevant work experience or a MSEE degree with 2-8 years relevant work experience, or a PhD with 0-4 years relevant work experience. Extensive experience in requirement creation, design documentation, modeling and simulation as well as familiarity with RF design tools. Experience with RF receiver, transmitter and antenna design, including an in-depth knowledge of RF filters, L.O.'s, noise figure, gain and matching. Familiarity with ADS, Sonnet, Spectraquest (Cadence), PSPICE, Matlab and MathCAD is preferred. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment and independently as an individual contributor.General Skills: Working knowledge Microsoft Office applications required.Working Condition: General office environment, laboratory, manufacturing area, or research areas requiring the ability to stand or site for long periods of time. Personal protective equipment maybe required to be used. Position requires the ability to work with computers and lift up to 25 pounds.Security Clearance:This position requires the passing of both a background investigation and polygraph to achieve a variety of compartmented national security clearances.
