Sr. Facilities Engineer

Oversees the planning, design, reconfiguration, construction, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities; gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility; coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings; prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition; reviews and estimates design costs with a high degree of accuracy to serve as a basis for project capital expenditure authorizations including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs; inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. 30%-Prepare project drawings, specifications and scope-of-work. 30%-Construction inspection for required conformance. 20%-Estimate project costs and/or prepare capital expenditure requests. 10%-Preparing purchase requisitions for respective projects, tracking project costs, and other administrational matters. 10%-other required duties. Bachelors degree from an accredited college as a mechanical or electrical engineer and six years of experience (see specific experience below), or equivalent experience/combined education required. Proficiency in AutoCAD required. Experience in building HVAC system design, control systems, operations, and maintenance. General knowledge of building electrical systems required. Must have experience in developing, planning, and managing building design and construction projects from conceptual stage through construction completion. Must have excellent writing and communication skills. Also required are strong project management skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Must conduct field inspections and make determination regarding customer requirements and project scope development. Experience with project management, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person.
