Job Description: RTSC’s Field Engineering Group is currently seeking a Sr. Field Engineer I to support the AEGIS Weapon System. AEGIS field engineers work closely with the Raytheon Engineering Group and logistics to solve technical and material issues. They represent Raytheon and Raytheon interests while supporting other major contractors, U.S. Government as well as U.S. Navy. They install, test, operate, maintain, repair and modify complex radar systems (SPY-1) and the MK 99 Fire Control System (FCS) in support of the delivery of new construction warships to the U.S. Navy. They assist personnel in establishing installation, testing, operation, maintenance and inspection procedures and techniques and integrate and test Raytheon transmitter systems into evolving AEGIS Weapons System hardware and software baselines. They work with Navy techs and train them in troubleshooting and testing of the system. They support the ship yards during acceptance sea trails underway and occasional ORDALT installations. The individual must have experience in radar theory and should be considered an expert in the radar field. He/she should be experienced with Raytheon electronic equipment and the installation and test process as well as troubleshooting failures to the root cause. Required Skills: · At least four years experience working with the AEGIS Weapon System · Ability to take charge and work with minimum supervision. · Working knowledge of electronics, tools and test equipment. · Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards for radars. Full knowledge of industry practices. · Technical writing skills to maintain AEGIS documentation and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems. · Should possess excellent verbal communications skills and know how to orchestrate job tasks between multiple group organizations. · May refer to established precedents and policies. Desired Skills: · U.S. Navy Radar "C" School or Army equivalent. · Personal Computer knowledge with extensive experience in word processing and spreadsheet creation. · Wire wrap and soldering skills a plus. · Prior experience working overseas on international assignments a plus. · Willingness to travel to support ORDALT installations and tech assists.
