We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join us at our dynamic 40 employee facility in Vernon, CA. In this role you will take on the manufacturing engineering of development and/or production programs, including application of engineering procedures, experimental investigation, technical direction and coordination, conception and planning encountered in the manufacturing and fabrication of metal and/or non-metallic hardware. Responsible for the manufacturing engineering of development and/or production programs, to include application of engineering procedures, experimental investigation, technical direction and coordination, conception and planning encountered in the manufacturing and fabrication of metal and/or non-metallic hardware. 35% - Develops manufacturing process and methods required to efficiently utilize company equipment, technology and manpower assets to produce metal and/or non-metallic hardware using various materials/alloys. 35% - Provides necessary processes and directions, as needed, to perform machining and thermal (heat-treat, quench, temper, etc. ) operations on Aerojet products, as per drawings, specifications and other documented requirements. 20% - Prepares needed documentation for release through Configuration Management needed to support assigned program manufacturing responsibilities. Tracks processing trends and provides necessary analytical and experimental evaluations to resolve line processing problems to ensure we meet quality control and attrition standards. 10% - Provide technical guidance to less senior engineers and manufacturing support personnel. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Other assignments by management on engineering, proposal preparation, etc., as needed to ensure overall success in meeting plant goals. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Metal Processing or Machine program writing and (5) years of related technical experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Requires background in metals machining, thermal processing techniques and pressure vessel processes. English required; ability to speak, read, write and translate English/Spanish (including technically, drawing dimensionals and specifications) is a real plus. Work place may include areas where chemical materials are encountered. May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels. Must customarily have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety. May be required to utilize a variety of personal protective equipment.
