Sr Principal Electrical Engineer - Signal Processing
Job Description: Radar Systems Analyst. Raytheon Missiles Systems (RMS) Company in Tucson, AZ is looking for candidates with 15 - 20 years of radar analysis and signal processing experience. Needs are spread across a wide number of current and proprietary programs, including Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM), Standard Missile (SM6), Advanced Intercept Missile (AIM9X), Precision Attack Missile (PAM), Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM), plus several Advanced and Proprietary Programs. In addition to its missile programs, RMS also supports several radar programs including the Close-in-Weapon System (CWIS) for the US Navy. The CWIS system contains both a surveillance search radar plus a highly fidelity track radar, and is currently going through a major radar upgrade activity. Candidate must have working knowledge of radar waveform design, clutter analysis, PRF selection, ambiguity resolution, pulse compression techniques, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and windowing concepts, monopulse angle tracking, and Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) techniques. Candidates with current and relevant experience in Space Time Adaptive Processing (STAP), Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) will be given a preference. Simulation and modeling experience is required. Systems engineering experience in radar, missile seekers, RF data links, and RF hardware requirements development would be an added benefit. The ability and desire to mentor younger engineers in modeling, simulation, requirements development and detailed trade studies is part of the job. Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop technical briefings for both internal and external customer are required. Those with current, active DOD Clearances will be given preference. Required Skills: Fluency in applications such as Matlab, MathCAD, or Mathematica. Working knowledge of C, C++, Ada, FORTRAN, Pascal, or similar higher order language. Strong analytical skills and experience with stochastic signal processing, digital signal processing, pulse doppler processing, and algorithm development are required. Desired Skills: Knowledge of synthetic aperture radars (SAR), stationary and moving target tracking for ground targets, automatic target recognition (ATR), radar cross section modeling, electromagnetic theory, and communication theory, is desired. Required Education(including Major): MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred. Math or Physics accepted with additional years of experience. BS Degree in EE, or PhD's in other disciplines with strong math skills and relevant radar experience would be considered.
