Sr Principal Systems Engr / Senior Policy Specialist
Position is located in Vienna, VA OVERVIEW: Intelligence Community Technology Governance – Plans and Policy Division (ICTG-P&PD) requires assistance in overseeing the development of polices and guidance to ensure the security, integrity, defense, accreditation and certification of the Intelligence Communities networks, systems, and IT infrastructure. The P&PD Sr. Policy Specialist leads the development of polices and guidance to ensure the security, integrity, defense, accreditation and certification of the Intelligence Communities networks, systems, and IT infrastructure. This office is charged with the development of Intelligence Community Directives, Memorandums and Guidance documents relating to IT governance, information assurance and computer network defense. These will address a wide range of topics both from technical standards to broader guidance regarding the information assurance policies applying to the IC. The coordination process requires frequent consultation across all ODNI offices, members of the Community, their legal staffs, network operations staff, and eventually their most senior executives. You will be setting the course and processes for the Intelligence Community to meet the challenges of today’s network security and IT governance environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibilities for the Sr Principal Systems Engineer - ICTG-P&PD Sr. Policy Specialist include: - Drafting, coordination and issue resolution of policies to improve information sharing, establish information technology governance mechanisms and priorities - Identify barriers and bottlenecks, resolve when possible, elevate with recommendation when required Basic Qualifications - Required Experience, Skills: - BA/BS degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, plus 10 or more years of applicable work experience. - Minimum 15 years combined staff experience at the headquarters of an Intelligence Community Agency, a major military command, the Pentagon or in the commercial sector participating in the development and coordination of policy, doctrine, or other regulatory documents - Minimum 6 years experience in the development of policy and guidance within the intelligence community. Requires extraordinary writing skills, and the ability to lead the coordination of draft documents within the ODNI and across the Community - Must have working knowledge of the DNI and the knowledge to defend the principles required to support the DNI’s mandate for each member of the Community to be responsible to provide information . - Ability to occasionally travel locally (within the Washington DC Metropolitan area) using Personal vehicle.
