Sr. Sensor Systems Engineer

Support the Sensor Systems group through all phases of design on assigned projects with minimal supervision.  Must have proven technical capabilities in all aspects of specific Sensor Systems (Radar, FLIR, Sonar, EOID, etc.) used in flight simulation and a detailed knowledge of software techniques used in the simulation industry.

 

· Bachelors’ degree in engineering, physics, or mathematics; or practical experience in technical field.

· Must possess at least 8 years experience in the simulation or related industry.

· Technical areas of expertise must include detailed knowledge of real world sensor systems and their operation as applied to simulation environments.

· Must have demonstrated capabilities in at least one of the following areas: tactical sensors or radar systems.

· Demonstrated analytical and mathematical modeling ability. 

· Demonstrated knowledge of software techniques and computer languages used in the simulation industry. 

· Effective hardware/software integration skills and the ability to finalize the acceptance of said systems.

· Related skill areas should include technical writing and presentation, technical effort and limited cost estimating.

· Secret security clearance is a plus.

 

· Responsible for conceiving, designing, implementing, integrating, testing, documenting, and supporting Sensor System software systems. 

· Conduct formal customer or internal technical reviews/training sessions as directed. 

· Stay current in industry advances in areas of responsibility. 

· Provide technical proposal inputs and author proposal sections, as required.

· In addition, the person in this position is responsible for assisting and training lower-level Sensor Systems engineers. 

· Good communication and organizational skills are mandatory.

· Must be able to perform effectively as a lead on a project team.



Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
