Sr Software Engineer II (Border Security)
LOCATION: SAINT PETERSBURG, FL 33701 Job Description: Successful candidate will develop and integrate semantic technology for a large scale standards-based information management system. This will include the implementation of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) framework, analytical tools and interoperable information sharing across data repositories and services. This opportunity will allow for the practical application of emerging W3C Semantic Web standards to achieve semantic interoperability in a heterogeneous distributed environment, as well providing solutions for leading edge challenges including: scalability, performance, fine grained security requirements, rules and logic programming, open source and COTS tool integration, and federated RDF triple store development and maintenance. Required Skills: Demonstrated experience in delivering production high-performance large, distributed, object-oriented client/server and web-based systems A strong technical background in knowledge management and/or information management methodologies and technologies including: taxonomies; ontologies; search; categorization; visualization and the Semantic Web. Two years experience using Semantic Web tools such as: Sesame, Jena2, TopQuadrant Must have developed at least one production quality semantic technology driven application Strong technical and written/oral communication skills are required. Must be able to work well both independently and as part of a team. Bachelor's degree is required. This role requires global travel. Desired Skills: Java programming experience Two years experience applying Semantic Web Standards such as: RDFS, DAML+OIL, OWL, SWRL, and SPARQL Experience with J2EE, XML/XSLT, Applying Rules and Logic Programming, GIS, Web Services, WSDL, JavaScript, AJAX is strongly desired. Experience with syndication technologies such as Atom and RSS. Familiarity with the full software development life cycle. Rapid prototyping experience.
